Parishes all over the Archdiocese of New York are given an opportunity to renew and strengthen after “Making All Things New” phase to increase participation, programs, facility development, etc. in the parish church.
St. Martin of Tours, Bronx is focusing on creating Father John Flynn Parish Center by renovating the Convent. Dedicating this project to the memory of Rev. John Flynn will keep his spirit alive in the neighborhood.
The new parish center will allow for more meeting space for our various groups and ministries at St. Martin of Tours, including a special Parish Youth Center. Currently, meetings and events are held in the Rectory- where space is limited.
There is a plan for each floor. The first-floor entrance with a reception area will include two meeting halls, kitchen, and pantry. The second floor has a chapel and a large hall with movable dividers. The Parish Youth Center will be on the third floor which includes a big hall for board/table games, television/audio-visual space, and study/homework tables. The fourth floor has six rooms for small group retreats and a room for storage. All the floors will have bathrooms, elevator access, and staircase access.
If you wish to know more about the project, please contact Fr. Cosme Fernandes, Pastor at [email protected] or (718) 295-0913 / (347) 320-1677 (cell).
